This is a project-sharing labor-exchange.

  1. You post what type of help you need. HivePals respond.
  2. You check out their Profiles and see if any of them actually have the chops to help you out.
  3. If you like someone's Profile, you can add him to your MyHive, and from MyHive, send an Invitation to him for a face-to-face Event to work on the project.
  4. After the project is done, come back to HivePals and post your feedback for the world to see!

There is a higher risk of negative feedback though, if the other HivePal doesn't like your work, so you should only be volunteering your labor if you're very confident of doing a good job.
The first 2 posts below are examples of how you can use Rub-A-Back.

What is

Bathroom remodel project - urgent!

I have a bathroom remodel project to complete over the weekend. I paint well and can handle plumbing, but need help with tiling. Anyone game to help? In exchange, I will gladly give you an equal amount of time in your plumbing DIY.

computer problem

Is there anyone out there who can help me set up and install software on my new laptop, hook it up to routers etc (I'm totally clueless) and also sync it with my iPhone? Help me, and in return, I will weed your garden for 2 hours. Deal, or no deal?

The basic hiveblog rules are:

  1. No copyright infringement.
  2. No breaking of any other civil or criminal law.
  3. HiveBlogs must be properly classified as Clean, Potentially Sensitive or Outrageous.

Please help QueenBee enforce these basic Rules by notifying her about dubious posts or inappropriate classification. Thanks!

HiveBlog Classification

There are three different categories of HiveBlogs:

Can't possibly offend anyone
May offend some people
Likely to offend most people

Please classify your HiveBlog appropriately because we use this as a "rating" system to minimize members' exposure to HiveBlogs that they may find objectionable. It is for that reason that we ask our members to choose one of three Blush Levels to describe themselves:

I am fairly old fashioned, and I'm easily shocked.
(These members can access Clean HiveBlogs only)
I go with the flow, and I'm not easily shocked.
(These members can access both Clean and Potentially Sensitive HiveBlogs)
Nothing shocks me.(These members can access All HiveBlogs)

If you need babysitting or other care needs, may we suggest checking out HiveMoms.com?

You can create as many internal-hiveblog archive categories as you want e.g. a blogger posting her recipes may wish to create categories of "Cakes, "Cookies", "Soups etc. Each blog article can be archived in up to 5 categories.

The photo can be of any dimension, but the file size must be less than 100kb.
Preferred file formats are JPG, GIF and PNG.
JavaScript must be actived in your browser.

If you need help resizing your photos, these are two websites where you can upload your photo and obtain a quick resize fairly quickly ie about 30-40 seconds if you have a fast internet connection - http://www.shrinkpictures.com and http://www.resize2mail.com (the second one is good for cropping a face from a photo).

Quick tip: We've found that if you start with a typical camera jpg file that's roughly 2,600 kb in size, you should choose a target size of 500 pixels on www.shrinkpictures.com in order to obtain a jpg file that's less than 100kb in size. If you prefer to crop a photo using www.resize2mail.com, we had good results by choosing a portrait target size of 540 x 720, but you may need to do some trial and error depending on the size of your cropped area relative to the entire photo.
